You can use product tags to include or exclude products in marketing rules and data source filters. When visitors browse or buy products, their associated tags are linked to that visitor profile.
These tags help you target content based on interests such as brand, colour, or other product attributes.
Use tags in marketing rules
Go to Content > Slots.
Select the Slot you want to edit, then select the Rules icon.
Expand the Person drop-down and drag the Best Tag Value block into the rule tree on the right.
Select the For the Tag field and then select the tag group you want to use in the rule.
Select the next field, then select the qualifier any of.
Select the the Tag Values field, then select the tag values you want.
For the are in the top field, enter the value for the level the tag must be for a visitor to be meet the rule criteria.
Optionally, select any tag values you don’t want to include in the rule from the excluding Tag Values from top field.
For over the last, expand the Analytics Period drop-down menu and select the time frame you want to use for the rule.
Select SAVE.
Use tags in data source filters
You can use product tags in data source filters to control which products appear in Recommendation SmartBlocks.
To do this:
Go to Content > SmartBlocks.
Select the Recommendation tab.
Select the SmartBlock you want to filter, then select EDIT.
Select the Filtering tab.
Drag the Best Tag Value block into the rule tree on the right, then:
For Filter to best, enter a number to indicate the levels of tag value preference for a visitor.
For example, to filter based on top three tag values, enter 3.Expand the Tag Values within the drop-down menu, and select the Signal to base your rule on.
For over the last, enter the number of days for the date range you want to use.
Select the Within the Tag Groups field and select the tag groups you want to include.
For If no Tag Values are found, include:, select a tag to include in the filter when no matching tag values exist.
Optionally configure:
Tag values to always include.
Tag values to exclude.
Tag groups to exclude.
To apply the filter to product variants instead of the base product, select the Apply Filter to SKU-level variants checkbox.
Under Apply Filter to Data Source, select the checkboxes for the data sources you want your configured filter rules to apply to.
Select SAVE.
Your content and recommendations target visitors based on product interests captured through tags.
