Migrate to a new site platform

Essential steps to migrate to a new site platform.

Updated over 5 months ago

Migrating your website to a new platform may affect data capture by our script, which relies on the site's specific HTML and JavaScript structure.

To minimize potential issues, follow these recommendations:

Provide access to a test version

Share access to a test, preview, or staging version of the new site with our script before the migration. This allows us to review and update the script if needed.

Add the staging site to Event Filters

Prevent data from overwriting your product database during testing by adding the staging URL to Event Filters. Expand the User menu, then go to Settings > Website Settings > Activity Block (Test/Office Data) to find the Event Filters.

Use catch-all for triggers

Before launching the new site, set your Triggers to catch-all to verify sends post-transition without customers seeing them. Expand the User menu, then go to Settings > Triggers and Messaging integrations > Go Live! and enter a catch-all email address into both email boxes. Once satisfied with the results, remove the catch-all email addresses to re-enable the Triggers.

Check web content in the Site editor

Review Content Configuration in the Site Editor to ensure compatibility with the new platform. Input the staging site URL in the address bar and browse the new layout. If necessary, adjust content placement using the advanced section or delete the current configuration and start from scratch by dragging and dropping content onto the new site layout.
