Set different triggers to upload shopper addresses to different lists

If you have multiple triggers, such as one each for a UK and US site, you can upload addresses from those triggers to different lists.

Updated over 6 months ago

You can add shopper addresses to different lists by creating multiple ESP Channel entries, each with a different list. These can then be assigned to the relevant trigger.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must have set-up an ESP channel.

Learn how in the section Email messaging providers. Follow the guidance for your ESP.

Add addresses to different lists

To do this:

  1. Edit your ESP settings and specify an appropriate list ID, for example, for your UK List. Give the channel a relevant name, like UK site.

  2. Once you have an existing ESP Channel for the first site, create one for each additional site by following the instructions for your messaging provider.
Enter the relevant list ID and channel name in each case.
You should now have an ESP Channel entry for each site, for example, US Site and UK Site.

  3. Go to Triggers in the left side menu.

  4. Create a new trigger for each site. Add your email address in the Catch-all email address for this trigger program field to prevent it sending any live emails for now.

  5. For each trigger, on the Action channel field, select the appropriate ESP Channel name from the dropdown.

  6. Check that each trigger has the relevant values for the Program Name and Only run trigger program for one site brand fields.
Optionally add any extra trigger script to the Script that controls whether this trigger program is run field.
    If you’re unsure, contact Support.
Finally, when you’re ready, remove the catch-all address you added in step 4 once the received emails look and feel as expected.
