Understand segments

Segments allow you to target visitors based on data collected from your website or imported from an FTP server or messaging provider.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can use segments for retargeting purposes, and they also assist in personalizing bulk emails, Fresh Relevance triggers, or social media campaigns.

There are three types of segments:

  • Behavioral
Targets visitors who have browsed or purchased particular products or categories. For example, if a visitor has shown interest in a specific category, you could send them an email notifying them of an offer on products matching that category.

  • Product change (Price drop/Back in stock/Low stock)
Targets visitors who have recently browsed products that have dropped in price, are now back in stock, or have reached low stock levels. Use this to send triggered messages to these shoppers, showcasing the relevant products.

  • Import
Targets visitors who subscribe to specific lists in your messaging provider or your CRM platform. You can use this to stop a Data capture SmartBlock from showing to these visitors.
