Use Dotdigital as your SMS messaging provider.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • Your Dotdigital account must be enabled for SMS sending. Contact your Dotdigital Customer Success Representative if you need help with this.

  • You need your Dotdigital API Username and password. Also make a note of the API endpoint. This is the region of your Dotdigital account.
Learn more in Create an API user.

  • It's possible to add Google Analytics tracking to the links in the SMS message.

  • Be mindful of the character limit of 160 characters for each SMS. Multi-part messages that exceed this many characters may be charged extra.

  • You must verify whether an opt-out message needs to be included in the SMS message. This should be added to the Fresh Relevance cart layout specified in the trigger program.
    Learn more in SMS opt-outs.

  • SMS doesn't support HTML, so cart layouts used for SMS should contain text only.

SMS channel setup

  1. In Fresh Relevance, expand the User menu and go to Settings > Triggers and Messaging integrations.

  2. Select Messaging Provider(s).

  3. Expand the Service provider drop-down menu and select Dotdigital SMS.

  4. Select NEXT.

  5. Expand the API Region drop-down menu and select your region.

  6. Enter your Dotdigital API username and API password.

  7. You can also optionally enter a Channel Name and Catch-All mobile number.

    • The Channel Name is a friendly name to help you recognise what the channel is in the messaging channels list. If this field is left blank it defaults to the messaging provider name: Dotdigital SMS.

    • A Catch-All mobile number can be entered to receive all SMS messages instead of your customers during testing. After you have finished testing, this number must be removed.

  8. Select NEXT.
