Updated over 5 months ago

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must have access to both your Fresh Relevance and Campaign Monitor account with API permissions.

  • You may have to ask Campaign Monitor Support to enable your API permissions.

Navigation changes

Integration partners update their platforms over time. The method for connecting to Fresh Relevance is always the same, but navigation paths in our integration partner accounts can sometimes change. If something doesn't look right, contact our support team and refer to the integration partner's help documentation.

1. Campaign Monitor to-do list

Before you setting up your Campaign Monitor channel in Fresh Relevance, there’s a couple of things you need to do in your Campaign Monitor account.

Create lists and transactional email templates

Fresh Relevance uses the Campaign Monitor API to send emails. You need one or more lists and transactional email templates. You can choose whatever names you like, but you need to copy details such as the IDs of your subscriber lists and transactional emails into Fresh Relevance so it knows what to send.

You can use existing content, or if you need help creating new subscriber lists and email templates the follow the links below to Campaign Monitor’s Help Centre:

Subscriber list

To find and copy the ID from your subscriber list:

  1. In Campaign Monitor, select the Lists & Subscribers tab at the top of the page.

  2. Under LIST, select the list you want to copy the ID from.

  3. Under the list’s name, select (change name/type).

  4. Under API Subscriber List ID, copy the 32-character API Subscriber List ID to use in Fresh Relevance later.

Email template

To find and copy the ID from your email template:

  1. In Campaign Monitor, select the Transactional tab at the top of the page.

  2. Under Emails, select the email template you want to copy the ID from.

  3. Copy the 36-character value from the end of the URL to use in Fresh Relevance later.

API key

To find and copy your Campaign Monitor API key:

  1. Expand the profile menu at the top of the page and select Account settings.

  2. Select API keys to view the page that holds your API key.

  7. Select the Apply Permission Check List to New Addresses checkbox to enable or disable the setting.

    • If checked then emails are only be sent to customers when they are subscribed to the Permission Check list. If disabled, then emails are not sent unless the customer is unsubscribed.

    1. Add the contact with a status of “subscribed”

    2. or Add the contact with a status of “unsubscribed”.
