Understand the Mandrill settings.

Updated over a week ago

If you select Mandrill from the Settings > ESP page, you are presented with a number of fields to complete. These are:

API Key

The key needed to allow us to make calls to your Mandrill account.

This is mandatory.

Default Email Template Slug for Cart Abandonment

This is the email template in Mandrill you want us to use by default. You create an email in Mandrill and then add the merge code to include the HTML generated by the cart layout.

The merge code typically looks like this: *|cart_html|*.

When you create a template, Mandrill uses the name to create a slug to allow us to reference it.

You may want to set this on the trigger instead (anything set on the trigger will override this default).

Default Email Subject

This is the default text we'll include as the subject line for the email to the customer, for example, “Did you forget something?”

You may want to set this on the trigger instead (anything set on the trigger will override this default).

Default Friendly From Name

This is the name of the person the email appears to come from, such as, “Your Company Name”.

This is unlikely to change for each campaign, so you may want to set a default.

Default Friendly to Name

This is the format to use for the name of the person we're sending to, for example, *|first_name|* would mean we merge in the person's first name if collected).

This is unlikely to change for each campaign, so you may want to set a default.

From Address

This is the email address the email appears to come from, for example, “info@your-domain.com”.

This is unlikely to change for each campaign, so you may want to set a default.
