Integrated ESP

Send triggered emails without setting up an external email service provider.

The Integrated ESP is a built‑in email‑sending service in Fresh Relevance. You can use it to send triggered emails by assigning the Integrated ESP action channel to your triggers, without completing any additional setup. This is useful if Fresh Relevance doesn’t currently integrate with your primary ESP, or if you want a quick way to start sending triggered emails.

There are a few functional differences between Action Channels using other ESPs that are worth considering. These are detailed in this article.


Cart layout

With other ESPs, the Cart layout used in a triggered email contains just the dynamic block of content captured from the site, such as the basket of abandoned products.

However, when using the Integrated ESP, the Cart layout must contain the entire email, including the header and footer.

When the email is sent, the Cart layout content is merged into a blank Integrated ESP template. If you don't have an existing email to insert into a Cart Layout, then one of the Cart Layout templates includes a full-length email. Our Professional services team can help, if you need assistance.

Email From address

The Integrated ESP uses its own domain, basketcontents.com, as the From address for triggered emails.

For example, if your company was called 'Toy Stuff,' you could specify the From address as toystuff@basketcontents.com.


Unsubscribe link

Triggered emails sent by the Integrated ESP should contain a Fresh Relevance unsubscribe link. This link unsubscribes the recipient from Fresh Relevance, preventing them from receiving future triggered emails.

As part of this, you'll need to provide a landing page URL for the unsubscribe link to redirect to when clicked, which could be hosted on your website or your main ESP.

If no landing page URL is provided, a generic unsubscribe message is shown on a white page.

Main ESP unsubscribes

The Integrated ESP has no knowledge of existing unsubscribed addresses from your main ESP, so it sends triggered emails to any address until they unsubscribe from the triggered email itself.

To import historical or ongoing unsubscribes from your main ESP, you must use the Person import.

Reporting

By default, Fresh Relevance contains reporting for sends and attributed purchases. The Integrated ESP doesn’t provide reporting for opens, clicks, or delivery status.
