Updated over 5 months ago

Segment Field Mapping allows you to include shopper fields other than email addresses in a generated segment, such as first and last names. This can be useful for personalizing email campaigns sent to a segment.

1. Create field mapping

To create field mapping:

  1. Expand the User menu, then go to Settings > Exports > Segment Export Field Mapping.

  2. Select CREATE FIELD MAPPING at the bottom of the page.

  3. The field mapping page shows the email address, which is always included in a generated segment.

  4. To add other shopper fields:

    1. Expand the Field Name drop-down at the top of the page and choose a Fresh Relevance field you'd like to include in your segment, for example, fn for First Name.

    2. Enter the field name in the ESP Fieldname text box. This should match the field's name in the destination ESP list.

    3. Select ADD to include the new field in the existing segment field mapping.

  5. Give a descriptive name to the field mapping and select SAVE.

Once saved, the new field mapping appears under Segment Export Field Mappings. To access, expand the User menu, then go to Settings > Exports > Segment Export Field Mapping. To further configure a field mapping, select Edit.

2. Use a field mapping channel

To use a field mapping channel in a segment:

  1. Go to the Data > Segments.

  2. Select the segment you want to use the field mapping in.

  3. On the segment edit page, select the Post-Build tab.

  4. Expand the Field Mapping For Upload drop-down menu, then select the created Field Mapping Channel.
