Updated over a week ago

Creating a sense of urgency is a powerful way to drive conversions. It’s especially effective when aligned with your company’s delivery promises. With Fresh Relevance, you can easily set up dynamic countdown timers that reflect your specific delivery windows, whether it’s next‑day shipping, weekend cut‑offs, or same‑day dispatch. Configure countdown timers that match your logistics, enhance the customer experience by setting clear expectations and encouraging timely purchases.

Example use cases

Next‑day delivery cut‑off reminder

Show a live countdown banner that ends at 5 pm daily, reminding customers exactly how long they have left to order for next‑day shipping.

Weekend shipping deadlines

Count down to a Saturday morning deadline for weekend deliveries that gives last‑minute shoppers a prompt to complete their purchases.

Same‑day dispatch urgency

Display a timer that runs from store opening until midday, motivating customers to order early in the day to qualify for same‑day dispatch.

Solution overview

You can configure countdown timers in Fresh Relevance to match your precise delivery windows, ensuring customers see exactly how much time is left to place an order for on‑time delivery. By pairing timers with slot rules, you can control when they appear, so the countdown is only visible while the delivery window is open. This maintains relevance, strengthens trust in delivery promises, and boosts conversion by creating genuine urgency.

1. Create countdown timer SmartBlock

  1. Navigate to Content > SmartBlocks.

  2. Select the Countdown tab then select Create SmartBlock.

  3. Select your placement of choice.

  4. On the Tactics tab, Select Reoccurring Event, then choose One Date.

  5. Complete the setup wizard.

  6. Select Save.

2. Configure countdown timer behaviour

  1. Go to your SmartBlock Design tab.

  2. Configure your block according to your needs.

  3. On the Behaviour tab, set up your date and time to correspond with your delivery window. For example, if next‑day delivery is available for orders made before 5 pm daily, set the start as 5 pm.

  4. Set the toggle to Reoccurring Countdown, and set the recurrence frequency, for example, daily.

  5. Once you are happy with your SmartBlock, select Save and Use in the top right corner.

3. Configure your slot

  1. Assign a location (Website or Email) and select Continue.

  2. Edit the slot properties to your liking and select Save to create the slot.

  3. In the Action dropdown, select Rules.

  4. To show the SmartBlock only while the delivery window is open, go to the Add Rules tab. Under Time, drag and drop the Daily Schedule rule under Slot Displayed and configure it to match your delivery window, for example, 00:00 am–5 pm.

  5. Under the Yes line, drag your created SmartBlock and drop it into the space below.

  6. Under the No line, either display No Content or select another SmartBlock in the Add SmartBlock tab.

  7. When you are happy with your slot rules, select Save.

4. Test and deploy

  1. Select Save and Use to add to a slot.

  2. Test and deploy the SmartBlock using your standard content testing process.
